Get your first look at King Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan in the first trailer for 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters'

Whoa.

I'll admit I was lukewarm on Gareth Edward's 2014 Godzilla, but the followup from director Michael Dougherty seems to be doubling down on the monstery goodness. Starring Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) and many more, it's clear Warner Bros. is trying to make amends for the Bryan Cranston bait and switch.

Here's the official synopsis:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the cryptozoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient superspecies, thought to be mere myths, rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters hits theaters March 31, 2019.
